PostHeaderIcon iPad Effects Amazon Kindle 2 Sales

The release of the iPad was a pretty big roll out, but did it really effect sales of the Amazon Kindle 2?

No, not at all. Most people who are wanting to read books and read them where ever they are, know that the iPad only offers a WiFi connection and from the recent reports, the iPad is even having problems connecting to these networks. The Amazon Kindle 2 offers multiple network connections and has coverage world wide, not just in WiFi hot spots like the iPad offers.  The amount of books available on the Kindle network is huge compared to the small library overred on the iPad.

Yes, the iPad does have a color screen, but how does having color help with text?  Well, it does not.  Actually having the glossy screen makes reading harder.  That is the only reason that the Amazon Kindle 2 is black and white, these colors and the no-glare screen make the display look closest to a real books page possible.  So if you are trying to make a decision on which device to get, if you are an avid reader, the Kindle is still the best in it's class.

PostHeaderIcon Amazon Kindle 2 VS Apple iPad

The Amazon Kindle 2 may have some real competition when the Apple iPad is released.  In the past the only device that was close to being real competition for the Amazon Kindle was the ebook readers from Sony.  Unfortunately for Sony, most of there ebook readers never really took of or posed much of a threat to the award winning Amazon Kindle series readers.

Apple has on heck of a track record when it comes to there customers buying digital content from them.  Now with the release of the Apple iPad which is promising a huge book store as one of it's selling points. this may be the first real competition that Amazon will see when it comes to their e-reader. If Apple has a big release and is able to ship millions of units, this may really hurt Amazon and there e-Book Sales.

There are many happy customers using the Amazon Kindle 2 as there only electronic reading device and they will most likely stay customers with Amazon no matter what new products are released. On the other hand, this may make a huge impact on new buyers and possible new clients for Amazon. We think that this may lead to Amazon taking there Kindle to the next level and offering more services from their own tablet device in the near future.

If you are ready to grab the Kindle now, you can buy direct from Amazon.  They have recently introduced 2 different sizes of the Amazon Kindle 2.
